Knowledge or Negligence

He walks this land; an immortal
He does not eat nor does he sleep
Constantly plagued and so very misunderstood
It is his job to do what he does
Not by choice or any fault of his own
Tis’ our fault he constantly harvests
Our fault he does not sleep
Our fault he does not eat
Our fault for his ghastly appearance
We are to blame for his misery
Self-indulgence and intraflection
A world without hope
No one can see what he does, except those that are selfless
These are the ones who understand
The others are overwhelmed with the fear that he may invoke
The ones who hold their possessions close
And their lives even closer
Saddened by all this; he gravely does his job
Rarely does he meet an acceptor; a realizer
He enjoys their presence, soothing to the touch
Off he carries them, with a newfound joy in his step
But you; when he gets to you he pauses
He realizes that you are like all the rest
Like the ones who cling to life
Like the ones that dwell on status and possessions
Like the ones who don’t understand
Don’t understand that he is there for a reason
Don’t understand that life is only a waiting room
Don’t understand him
As he carries you, it pains him greatly
Like a needle in a heroin addict
You drag and wear him down
Until almost nothing is left
And he is nothing more than a hollow shell
He is our carrier
He leaves none behind
Without him we would be thrown into the abyss
Eternally damned
Do you understand now?
Do you understand his importance?
Do you understand him?
Heed my words for I do not speak falsely or inaccurately
For I have met him
He told me of his pain
Of his remorse
Of the pity he takes on us
For being naïve and negligent
Negligent of the truth
The universal truth: We are all going to die
Never knowing when or where it will happen
Surprise is natural, but acceptance comes with time
Desire overpowers knowledge
The desire of physical things latches on and sucks your life
Until you are dry
Knowledge is cast aside like a poison
But this poison needs no antidote
For it is the antidote
The antidote of life
It cures and heals all
Taking away all the stresses and diseases
Leaving only joy, happiness, and understanding in their stead
Knowledge is the draught of life
So it may be wise to take a drink,
Lest you be a knife in his back.

    my favorite line was

"Like a needle in a heroin addict
You drag and wear him down
    Until almost nothing is left"

i really liked the metaphor used here.

I love this, the only problem I have with it online is that maybe you wanna space into blocks so it's not soooooo clumped together? Otherwise Yay!
