Her best friend eyed the candy wrapper,
saying nothing,
ignoring his want.
She picked the up the last piece,
and handed it to him,
as the ultimate sacrifice.
Author notes
We all know how it feels when you have candy, or chips, and there's one piece left, and you know a friend wants it. You really want the last piece, but you give it to them anyway. Its a sacrifice for friendship. :]

Criticize me. :] Please? I usually don't write in this style, my poems almost always rhyme. Tell me what you think.

I like the simple style on this piece and I agree it can be taken as the sacrifice for a friend, great outside the box thinking!
Thanks for taking the time to enter this contest, I wish you the best of luck

Yes, this is an brilliant response to the prompt... definitely out of the box type of thing. I have bookmarked it for later reads as well. So simple, yet this is really a sweet sacrifice.. and very friendly of a write. Great job! Good luck!
