Values of UnRequited Love

As the tsunamis torment your soul
and the thunder crashes down
while the lightning strikes your heart
and watches your misery drown.

You wish you were the one
in his arms today
instead of the girl who pained you
and never let you have a say.

Can you imagine worse than seeing your best friend
become your own worst enemy,
fighting until the very end?

Something awoke inside your sleeping shadow
as your eyes burned with the hatred of the past
the skeletons in your closet that had gone on un-buried
decided to reappear and make their victim their last.

The knife of destiny gleamed in your very hands
and it was you who had the key
to the door of her very soul
will you let her pass unharmed and free?

Or will you fight to the very death
with fate changing from your side
the destination of your accomplishments
singeing your very pride.

It was your choice
and your choice was clear.
You valued your own life,
and so did i, my dear.

Please be as honest as possible, but not to the point where you're just cruel. Be fair, and thanks!

Unrequited love is a killer... unless it is taken in certain ways. It all depends on the situation, the people, and the actual person who feels the love & how they handle it. I'm in a situation like this, yet I have no bad feelings about it being unreturned. This poem expresses the darker and more emotional side to it. It's also sad, because the situation sounds disappointing, especially if there is someone else in the other person's life & not you.
