i am so undeserving
far more than you'll ever know
what you see beneath these lies
it's beyond understanding

at night i am crying out
as i twine myself 'neath sheets
who am i to be attained
you, in each way, are perfect

to be loved, is amazing
loving you is much greater
in you I confide always
in me you will find solace

our voices above the lull
the ever exuberant
to know and to feel your heart
mine has now stopped beating

parallel structures, you see
aren’t customary practice
with you and me and being
just two in unending life

my way to show you your worth
is never through poems’ words
but through smiles and presence
and ever gracious praises

for now I’ll abstain asking
as it seems I know the truth
for you and I, not and me
