My 'status' today...
Alittle complicated
Maybe i'm Here
Maybe i'm Not
How would You know if i'm lying
Guess it Don't matter
Double-click
Tell me your life,
I'll listen
Listen?
I can't hear you
I guess i'll watch...
Read...
Reading, reading
Words upon words
Lies upon lies
Would you like me to lie for you
It's fairly easy
Type, type, type
Words upon words
Lies upon lies
More and more lies
Getting quite tangled up
In this "world wide web"
...Would you save me
Come see me?
You can't
YOU're in there
In the monitor
Who are you
Anyway
Who needs you
You're just some blinking pixels on a screen
"you" exist only in my mind
or maybe "you" don't exist at all
Author notes
I knew a boy once from my school, he asked me out right before he moved away. He would keep in touch with me over the internet, so day after day I would chat my life away there. Filled my head up with all sorts of things I later found to be lies... A few times he would finally get around to actually visting me in real life...Wouldn't even talk to me, just kiss me, feel me up, then say he has to go, and leave. So, a warning to some of you: don't try to look for love on the internet, most of the time those aren't very healthy relationships and people have a tendancy to lie. Also, if you have something important to say to a person - do it face to face, or if you really have to, use the phone. Don't just type it up or write it in a letter... This poem was written after that boy spent another few hours of my time typing up all sorts of romantic things, and then the next day one of my friends at school told me that that boy called them and told them to tell me it's over. The boy hasn't been "online" since then.
