Fragile panes of glass security,
seperate us
from leering over the edge
as the tempted,
Bite the bait
who will be the next to fall?
Threatening blue mist; droplets
surround us, the sinners
who broke the waves
churning hungrily,
Desperation moves in a steady stream.
Suspended in a vacuum,
homogenous blues and blacks
uniform in their identity,
suspended in time.
Bodies
with mutinous intentions
Sling missiles through our eyes;
and millions of tiny
syringes pierce our lungs,
rapidly emptying minds
Gaze through the glass
at the light; phantasmagoria above
Until we're flat
out of oxygen.
This is where we say goodbye
every time.

I loved this! The image in the first stanza was amazing and it stayed in my head throughout the rest of the poem. The ending was a surprise... it changed the way I looked at the parts before it... great write!
