Isn’t it something
how I got nothing
to say.
With war still a raging
I’m disengaging
each day.
From a world acting crazily
their god lost and hazily
at play.
As religions give a reason
by putting the squeeze on
one way.
By calling all the willing
ensuring them that killing’s
okay.
With elections a dawning
I find myself yawning
away.
A political scene
alive with gangrene
per se.
Yeah,
in a world still and screaming
I’m off a dreaming
my way.
By giving peace its due
and loving even you
today.
Isn’t it something
how I got nothing
to say.
Author notes
Um, I'm not sure about this yet, and may do some tweaking. I may not give it another thought either. Time will tell. Overall, just random thoughts about having nothing to say about this world, even though it makes my crazy if I think about it.
Please tell me what you think

This reads like it could be the lyrics to a song. Very rhythmic, even melodic. I agree with Azlyn that your poem says a lot about nothing to say.

A lovely piece, I loved the thought pattern or lack of it

Thanks. For some reason, this keeps going through my head, almost like a song being chanted. Too bad I can't sing...

Very nice. Good rhyming pattern and strong message that I can relate to. I have always been politically involved, but this time I just can't get excited.
One candidate who sounds too good to be true (and as Daddy always said "if it sound to good to be true, it probably is!) One candidate that no one will vote for because "She's a dame." And one candidate that is just more of the same...
Stretch...yawn...scratch.
Exellent write!
