tight feelings
choking you;
exhausting the very life
once cherished
been granted
with nothing more
than memories
a part of you
snatched away
by an unknown entity
gripping on your heartstrings
to end the innocence
and begin the visciousness
but somewhere
in the far distance,
a lone heron stands
waiting for people
to finish their picnic
so he can scrap up
the last morsels
looking at him,
your life
doesn't seem
so alone anymore
push through the wilderness
dance away the sorrow
sing a merry tune
to notes of yesteryear
do anything

just to prove
life's still
worth living
