Poor you (little rich kid)

spoiled children with their silver grins
golden water bottles & pretty little models
they smile at the little people like me
thinking we look up to them and plea

but in reality they're stuck in a dream
one they think involves envy and money
I feel sorry for how materialistic they are
because in this life they won't go far

we smile back at them, yes, in pity really
knowing they could never know life & love
they wave at us gleefully, waving their jewelry
but an unexpected event occurs, as her eyes are teary

maybe she's awaken from her comatose state
realizing her frame of mind was a mistake
it could simply be my imagination running free
but I hope it's not, for I've run out of sympathy

how do you feel now?

ive always held a certain disdain for the mtv crowd, as i cant stand materialism. lately, though, ive started to think that their mindset and mine started out similiar. we just chose different ways of dealing with it. then again, im often full of shit, and could be dead wrong. either way, its something ive been giving heavy thought for a few weeks now.

anyway, i like this poem. its angry up front, but gives you the sense that there may be a deeper pain hiding in there.

glad to hear such. I wonder if people realize this was somewhat inspired by paris hilton and people like her. hahaha.

and I get what you're saying. but how can some celebrities stay so down to earth and others becomes so egotistical? it's a weird phenomenon...really.
