The Why

Why should I answer a question
life taught me not to ask..
Why challenge the self
and break through layers
of curiosity knowing
my soul is so fragile
and fear the word "because"
I know ..I am a seeker
Just like you..
and always has been
but I shiver and cry
for those who will get to answer..

And Oh did I just say why..

Author notes

As a nurse, one thing we learn. ..we should never ask Why...because it only brings trouble..

I have found out some 'whys' in my time, and you are right, they are trouble. On the other hand, answers can bring closure and an end to grief. All situations are individual, and this is a rational approach.
Congratulations on your gold trophy, well done.

I love this. This is deep. That is the one question that never will be answered in this life: 'Why?' A shiver ran down my spine on reading this.

    Keep writing
    Wonderful thought-provoking piece this is.

    Super

EVERY why, medical or not, brings more questions, till we finally get to "just BECAUSE". Because it works that way, because the results are disaster down another path, because it's human nature, because God made it that way. The great plus to seeking through your own layers is not only finding some of the answers but also finding the strengths and depths of all those layers to your soul. It IS worth the time, effort, tears and prayers it takes! Thank you for asking the questions...

Very deep... I had to read it three times, quite excitedly, to get the full meaning. I disagree with the concept of giving up! Rather strenuously. We never give up asking why, we simply learn we will never find a complete answer... so what? We continue to grow by its asking... what could be better than that? Great write! Love the thought in this.

This was from the idea of not asking why to patients...because from asking why..you already judging them..if you understand what I mean..for some reason..the contest idea made me think of that..because all my handouts got big why picture crossed..so when I saw the contest..I thought to use that idea..thank you my friend..your comment is very much appreciated.

As a nurse, I can imagine the why's and maybe's. It is giving us plenty of thought reading this, and I very much doubt if I'll be able to answer. Wise.
