intents revealed by word and act
upon the land and lives he’ll touch;
what things he’ll loose, which ones he’ll clutch.
Will’s subjugation of the flesh;
which thoughts are welcomed and refreshed?
And weighted, too, with what’s been done,
the harvest ~ what each soul’s become.
When bows the knee at heaven’s throne,
as God doth see, our selves are known.

Ain't that the truth, in the end:All will be revealed.

Excellent. You have put in print that which is often so intangible. I have a love/hate relationship with introspection!!!! It is so important in becoming a better person, but often, it is just plain painful.
Your poem reminds me of a scene, yet vivid in my mind, of when I was visiting someone on their death bed. It was almost as if they were between here and there, but anyway they started rattling off things they had done. It was very creepy, as if sins were being seen not only by God and himself, but by everyone else as well. Scary.
May we subjugate and refresh NOW in preparation for that day!

Ah, a powerful and profound piece you have penned here (sorry for all the p- words), indeed we are known and revealed through our actions, really made me stop and think about free Will and God's Will, and the nature of the soul, and the meaning of life... Oh great, now how am I supposed to sleep?

Thank you for entering my why contest. I like this sonnet, but it does leave me wondering who "Will" is and who this poem is about.

Thank you, Pollycheck! I am most grateful for your comment, I had not realized I was unclear.
By Will, I meant the faculty of conscious and especially of deliberate action; the power of control the mind has over its own actions. I added same to author notes. If it is still unclear, if you would take a moment to let me know, I will work to further address it. Most appreciated!
