Ode on Ode on a Grecian Urn

Rooted to the turf
But limbs not rigid from fear
The virgin wood mocks
A scorned lover's stare
Daphne and Apollo
Such a timeless, tragic pair

Once worshiped,left with only wood
As a noble nymph escapes the wrath
The thwarted, searing sun
Can but burn in aftermath
Else he become the seed
Of future dendrophiliacs

Excellent! First I liked the fact that you used Daphne and Apollo as a basis for this, for mythology has a romance all of it's own. Second I had to go look up the word dendrophiliacs (I probably should have been able to figure that out, but..) I like learning new words. You did a marvelous job with this and I appreciate you entering it in this contest.
