Maybe this isn't the way it's supposed to be.
But I loved it when you
Died in my arms.
Because it was you.
And I, was me.
And that's the way things should be.
Me and you.
No one else.
No one there to tell us,
That what we are,
Is a sin.
Because we share a body,
That looks the same.
We're the same hieght.
Same age.
Have the same haircut.
But you have blonde hair,
I have black.
You have green eyes,
I have blue.
But we love each other.
And that's so wrong.
Because in the eyes of others,
We don't belong.
And how I wish I could
Kiss you sweetly,
In front of a crowd,
And no one would scream.
Because you love me.
And we wouldn't care.
Because the world was ours.
And we wouldn't share.
Because what other's thought never bothered us.
But that isn't true,
We ran in fear when they caught us.
At the movies,
Kissing and holding one another.
It frieghtened us,
Because they said they'd find us.
And when they did,
Kill us.
Because we should't have been.
And we'll run in fear,
Until the world opens its eyes.
To this.
Because we love one another.
Even if we are...

I don't totally relate to the situation, but the emotions are universal, you know? I have a gay friend and he's talked to me - and it sounds as if you've just put his thoughts into this poem. It's very well written, very clear how you've presented all the emotions. Great write, but sad.

I really loved this poem.
I am bi and I know the feeling of wanting to kiss someone in a crowd and have it not matter to anyone.
Im reading a book called Rainbow Boys, you should read it. Its about 3 gay guys in high school and the drama they face for being gay.
the world is unforgiving.
but who cares?
