Spanish Moss
I saw a parable of you
like a whispered dream
half dreamt
genteel southern elegance, dancing
wearing the breeze like butterfly wings
in the soft, humid air
of so many yesterdays summers
you are like spanish moss
clinging precariously to these limbs
of my very heart
and though you are no longer here
the dancing moss tells me
you will ALWAYS be near
Author notes
This image reminds me of the trees covered in spanish moss where I used to live in Florida. It also reminds me of a dear friend that died six months ago. For Ambrosia

I particularly enjoyed the first line of this piece. You have painted a wonderful picture with your words. I particularly liked the idea of dancing spanish moss being a reminder. Well Done and thank you for your entry.
