Ode to The Great Potato

ode to the great potato
I like 'um mashed and I like 'um fried
there's nothin like a baked potato
which is my favorite? I cannot decide

it can make a wonderful meal
it can make a wonderful side
and if you use a sweeter potato
it can make a wonderful pie

you can have 'um roasted if you wanna
I prefer them with cheese
you can have them with salt or butter
any way you please

do you want them chipped
do you want them mashed
do you want them fried
do you want them hashed
do you want them au gratin

do you want them scalloped
do you want them baked
do you want them tattered
do you want them caked
is there any I've forgotten

you can put them in a soup or stew
and serve it up with a ladle
this is my tribute to the finest of foods
