Cold air slaps the nostrils
as bright life greets the eyes
and soft snow embraces the feet.
The tall dark pines frame the brilliant blue sky
and all things are laced in a dazzling coat of white.
Life surges through the limbs,
head to tow and toe to head
and all around again.
As if the rising sun
whose blinding game of peak-a-boo enthralls the mind
were a cell in the body
rather than a part of the external world.
Faster and harder the air floods in
with each passing stride.
Gliding across the tiny crystals
piled high upon the ground
each reflecting the light
of life itself.
Capturing the energy of the sun
and endowing it upon any soul
lucky enough to be the first
to race across the freshly fallen powder.
Please tell me what you think

This is awesome, one of the best poems I have read in a long while. I love the imagery and how it clearly paints a picture of the landscape. I especialy loved the fifth line talking about everything covered in snow. Thank you so much for sharing your words, thoughts, and experiences with all of us here.
