Round, brilliant perfection.
Dazzling, sparkling, grasping pure light
and transforming it
into unimaginable beauty.
A beauty that captivates
grabs the heart
lulls the eyes into a trance.
Fixed upon the glittering perfection,
both brilliant and round.
The labor of this creation was
and still is
intense.
Equal parts joy and anxiety
peace and tumult
fear and love.
Such beasts that have been slain
before the sterling curves
the long sleek spires
that so tenderly grasp the fiery ice
could be born.
And so here it is
eternal symbol of perfection
glistening reminder of daemons conquered
fears abated.
Ultimate sign of love and life
a rounded life
and magnificent union
of brilliant perfection.

In my opinion - I think this is excellent. The whole first stanza captured me because it's something that I've actually seen - exactly the way you describe it. You put it into words perfectly - that which I was unable to. And the rest describes the rescue of love.
