So young to feel such pain,
this trial was not meant for you.
I wish you'll still wish on shooting stars
when this difficult time is through.
You're a beacon in a sea of rain and wind
and your potential has no bounds,
so stay strong, and hold your mother's hand.
I'll pray that this doesn't keep you down.
Lift your scared eyes to the sky
and find that shooting star
wish with all your wishing might
wishes can carry you amazingly far.
I am so glad that I got the chance to see
the way your inquisitive mind takes over the class.
And I hope that you know I'll not forget-
the impact you've had on me won't quickly pass.
Stay strong, little boy, and get well soon-
we miss you deeply in our classroom.
