What is this that I have found
as I lay here upon the ground
How long the day that I did sleep
How firm did slumber hold me deep.
This light I see above me shining
The songs I hear my lost friends singing
Are those the voices Ive so long missed
Was I awakened by a kiss
Are angel wings softly lifting
up this old man sadly drifting
into bright eternal cheer
Where I shall see those I held dear
and walk upon the streets of gold
crying out forever
Oh my soul

and I meditated "for real"

A delightful piece. Very creative and you couldn't help but smile as you read the rhyme versed.

It all flowed so well except the rhyme failed on these stance;
"This light I see above me shining
The songs I hear my lost friends singing"
It is a like a soul searching poem. thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
