Time
Is so precious.
It just keeps ticking away.
There never seems to be enough…
Time
Throughout a day,
Throughout a week,
Throughout a month,
Throughout a year
To see or do all the things
I desire.
Because time has a way of slipping through the fire…
Unnoticed…
As fate continues to conspire
To rob me of my time
By erecting diversions and obstacles in my way.
It was you, babe,
Who kept me from all these things in my life.
Now you’re gone.
All I have left are a red rose and a kiss goodbye…
Because time
Was not on our side
And now you’re gone
Never to return to me.
I can’t stay young forever.
I will grow old one day.
I can’t stop or even slow it down.
I can only live from day unto day.
Knowing in the end,
Time has a way of catching up with us all, my friend.
But you seem to be saying to me,
'Time
Is so precious.
It just keeps ticking away.
Use it wisely
And don’t let it slip away.
Don’t let go for a minute.
Don’t let go for a second.
Don’t let go for a moment.
Hold on.
Just take the time to live every day
And love as much as you can…
Because time
Was not on our side
And now I’m gone,
Never to return to you again.
Now all you have left are a red rose and a kiss goodbye…
Time
Is so precious.
It just keeps ticking away…’

Author notes
I used Pic #1... The pic is steeped with the essence of
her mourning the loss of someone close to her. It just has that feel to it to me. I wrote this as a lyric because of the words and the music playing in my head.
I hope that you like it. If not then DQ it. Thanks.

Two lines in particular brought very vivid images
to MY head...
"Because time has a way of slipping through the fire"
This brought to mind the melting clock paintings
of Salvador Dali
And since I'm always looking at the dual parts of life
this part brought to mind the old Rolling Stones hit
"Time, time, time...is on my side...yes it is..."
"Because time
Was not on our side"
Time is usually only on our side when we apply the
actions needed and yet even those are not enough
for there are written laws which even we can not
overcome, even though man feels the need of the
power to control...
TIME (ku)
time ticks
awaiting my decision
of final choice
Hugs...Eddy

Eddy,
Thanks for reading, commenting and applauding, my friend. Your comments always make me think. They always make me think of things that I wasn't thinking about when I wrote the piece and that can be a good thing. It expands my horizons. Thanks again.

Time sure can be a blessing or an enemy!
That's why I hate those clocks that tick-tick-tick it drives me nuts to hear each minute slipping away from me. Plus it always seemed to me also that old folks would have a big clock - ewww!
I'll try to make time my friend as you've inspired me not to let it all slip away!
Thoughtful and poignant!
