and my eyes beheld the scene
Ceiling turned black like night,
green no longer seen
Birds couldn’t greet the day,
they no longer had songs to sing
All earth fell to decay,
and the Church bells ceased to ring
It was the start of the Eternal Night
There was no place to hide in fright
Death came with lack of light,
day break no longer seen
In the hallways of our minds,
there were times we’d recollect,
when we refused the signs and from Ole Sol we’d collect
We plotted in a daze, never knowing what would come;
unprepared and amazed, we beheld a dying Sun
What shall we do? Men called to Yah
There is no dew lying upon the bog
Our lives are through without The Light,
only death can follow such Eternal Night
Then came an answer, in the heart of man
There is a light you can ignite, radiating from the hand
With a power of such force, you can reverse the fate of man
You can regain what you think you’ve lost,
if only you believe you can
The Sun fell from the sky,
my eyes beheld the scene
It was the start of the Eternal Night

Author notes
This lyric came upon me totally unawares. I was not a Bible Scholar at the time & into things that are actually anti-Biblical! I sang this at a Sabbath Service once a while back & a woman who heard this said: "This is about Revelation & the stars falling from the heavens!" Yes, that's one point, but with a reading & not just 'hearing' me sing this song once & being amazed at the content & music you should be able to 'see' a lot more. Let's see...

I think you're doing great. Though I read another one of your poems and you ended it better though I still think this is an alsome poem that shows that sometimes fear over comes us. Alsome poem and alsome page(I visited it). You could call me a huge fan.

These are
lyrics about the end times which are detailed in the New Testament & Revelation. Reading these lyrics & being able to hear the song are two different things. I wish I could sing it for you VIP! What's your name sweetheart? BTW....I think with "alsome poem" you meant to say "awesome"? When you see something underscored in red that means you probably misspelled & you should click to get the correction & then click to fix! I hope I helped you there! You right click. If your spelling isn't too far off the bat it'll give you options to pick. You can make me a fav....do you know how to do that? It takes some time to learn how to navigate here. I'll be pulling for you! -

My name is Veronika I. P. . I'm sorry I couldn't answer this before. I think my sister can help me add you to my faves.

You are
such a darling Veronika! Every time I see your pix it brings a smile to my face & warmth to my heart. I like that spelling of your first name! What nationality is the name Pister? Interesting. I think I remember that if you go to a HP you'll see an option on the right of the page near the person's name to add them as a fav. Doll face ~ I you.

fantastic!!!
Well done. I am not very religous myself, and I am not even technically christian, but I have read the bible and find this an amazing poem well written about armageddon. That its came to you unawares is not suprising to me as the creator works in small mysterious ways. I really enjoyed the ryhme scheme!
May the stars gaurd your path!

This is a wonderful poem - a very well deserved gold trophy! I like the way you craft the imagery so well - the only thing that I would mention (and you probably get told this all the time, because I used to) is the effect of the lack of punctuation and the capitalisation of the first lines on the flow ... but then that is completely up to you
the uplifting nature of this poem is beautifully done and I really enjoyed the read
Keep writing

How deeply intruiging, the imagery is bursting off this and I can't take my eyes off it!
Excellent poem

This is a wonderful piece you have penned. Something to be very proud of. I saw the connection with Revelations as I was reading it and then the hope towards the end that Man can change this destiny through faith. It makes me wonder what it would sound like when sung to music. Very nice...alby
