writing and getting rid of the truth

Who's idea was it
to write life in Sharpie?
that is PERMANENT marker
it doesn't wash out.

No eraser can erase the truth.
Your only hope is
to rip it up
and throw it away

But the truth can
only be ignored
never forgotten
no matter how hard we try.

Even crossing
out the horror
with lines of black sharpie
doesn't make it go away.

Pouring water on it
doesn't even make
the ink run or blur
making the truth illegible

The truth can
always be found.
You just have to look
in the right places.

Even if that means
in the garbage
or deep in the
subconscious of our minds.

Author notes

the idea came to me a while ago but i never got around to putting in words.
