Yesterday I prayed for you
when I read your page.
I saw your name was Dave,
but I didn't know your age.
I know you didn't ask me to,
but I did it anyway.
And even though you probably don't want it,
I'm letting you know today.
I prayed you'd let go of anger,
I prayed God would ease your pain.
I did it because I needed to.
I believe it is not in vain.
I don't even know you
and I know you don't know me,
but if you look into my heart
a true God I'd hope you'd see.
I'm not a saint, but I'm His warrior,
and for many I do pray.
And I know my prayers availeth much.
That's what I did yesterday.

Conni,
The funny (not ha ha) thing is I gave Dave his user name. We were joking around on the Forums here and I told him his name should be "nogod" because he was atheist. I know you well enough to know that your words are honest and sincere with no judgment at all. You are a praying woman and it would be just like you to pray for someone you've never met. I think I know Dave a little from his kindness and honesty whenever we speak, and I believe he will be grateful that you prayed for him.
The beauty of life for me is that no matter our beliefs, we can be civil to one another and treat each one we meet with lovingkindness, you have done that in leaps and bounds with this work of poetry. Knowing you as I do, like a sister, speaking to you daily and working with you for over 20 years as my co-worker and business partner...I know your prayers were genuine and I think you might just make a new friend here. Dave is a gem! I am sure he will see the God-light in these words.
Excellent!
Much Love Always ♥
Renee

It is good to pray for others, to ask for help so they will improve in health or to move on in their lives. This is good to do every day.

Beautiful!
Encouragement is what we all need. I glad you understand that you don't have to know someone to pray for them. Your poem flowed well. You made your point and I see the presence of God in your words. We need more poetry like this out there for viewing.
Good job -
Well done, sister.

Good for you! I hope Dave will be blessed.

This is possitively beautiful. I think you did a wonderful job. To pray for someone is such a selfless gift. I think whomever you prayed for, should be forever grateful.
