His last harsh
words have now been spoken
and she creates
that empty dial tone
on both ends of their conversation.
He chose his words carefully
the ones he knew
would dig the deepest
creating the most perfect scars
with no blood spilling
and only the river of tears
across her shadowed face.
Shes sitting quietly
in the corner of her room
lit only by her dusk open window.
Theres no music playing
in the background to remind her
of all their stupid love songs.
Her only escape is her silent phone
sitting empty on the floor beside her
All she has to do is dial one more number
but that number
doesn't exist any longer.
He had to take her
and break her down
just so he could be happy
for a single minute of time.
He thought she fell prey
to such pretty words
but she can see through lies
and the false perfection
he thought she wouldn't see.
But his words are replaying
constantly back and forth
mocking her and her foolish heart
for ever falling in love with him
and all he never could be
[it was really only infatuation]
But what are you going to do, sweetie
if she picked up her things,
and all shes ever been to you
and walked right out your door
never to darken that place again.
Could he really say goodbye
to her ever so shining eyes
and all their midnight talks.
Well baby, he's watching her
walk away now,
and it'll eventually sink in
when one night he'll need her
[and now he's lost the only
thing that ever made him feel alive]

yeah, its good that you separated yourself from whoever that guy is.

this poem is great, its really descriptive.
sorry i'm sory of crative-missing right now.
but great job. and good luck. -
its good to move on from hin darlin. i know you loved him with a firey passion. but love exists in many forms and one of them is through mine. i love you deeply but i know it's not the same as a mans love. but i will always be here for you no matter what lies ahead of us!

Very lovely.
Thought that this part had perfect rhythm:
"and she creates
that empty dial tone
on both ends of their conversation."
Though "Shes sitting quietly" should be "She's sitting quietly" -
