Your "poem" confirms my opinion of the type of no-talent fuck-ups who haunt this site. Most of you wouldn't recognise a good poem if it walked up and stuck its dick in your ear. And you, my talentless friend, are no exception. Your piece of moronic drivel lacks taste, poetic direction and purpose--it's basically a pile of crap. NOW will you take me off your favourite's list?

This was really freaking funny, brought me a decent laugh tonight!!

Oh well ...
I write so many nonpoems, that I do not care if others write them too.
So: Brother Bad Bill, consider your blood pressure and turn a blind eye ...
I did delete a comment or three, which showed the reader's lack of insight
, but who am I to judge? Being a dumb blonde and all that.

lol I like a comment with a bit of raw emotion in it... but to request being removed from a favorites list from a purely merit standpoint and not because it involved a personal clash? Hmmm... haven't experienced that one before!
-

You say what you mean Bill lol.i don't agree that 95% of people are trying to portray something they are not.
From a personal point of view not everyone is an attention seeker trying to portray an image and calling themselves a poet. Some people such as myself just enjoy writing and as long as it is enjoyable to the person does it actually matter if it is good or bad.Everyone s writing goes through good and bad periods anyway.
Having read the different types of comments suggested by the person running this contest
number six amused me greatly there is definately alot of females gushing over male writers on this site paricularly bored housewives lol!!!Your okay Billl, I'm very happily married lol!!!
Great piece though hope you feel better for having got it off your chest lol!!
I would agree with night hope there are some very talented writers on this site

which is why I said, quite clearly - 95% of writing on here does not inspire me - not that I think 95% of people are portraying something they are not - not sure how you read that into my comment, I mean it is here, on the screen. I geuss that adds to my point, if people can't even read your comments without getting them wrong, misinterpreting them or making an assumption, what hope do you have with your poem?
smirnoff you have took the comment personally - when in fact it is a comment that is aimed at this site and pretty much any other poetry site I have been on. I never mentioned attention seeking, again, I fear you are reading too much into it.
I would apply a similar rule of thumb to my own work - 95% forgettable - the 3% good and the final two, the rare ones which really work. It's that final percent I live for, and same for this site, it doesn't matter how much crap there is, when you find a great writer who touches you it is made all worthwhile.
You should not take these comments personally - and you should remain not so self concious about yourself as a human being or your writing.

Good for you, Bill. There have been times when the only kind thing I could find to say was "nice background".
I would suggest to Side Salad that he look further than he has; this site has some incredible talent. Stay away from bloody authors' pages & writers with a lot of "x's" in their name. Those are the attention seekers, usually. And they are usually too young, too angst~ridden & far too hostile to accept a "real" comment, in my experience. Good luck in the contest, my outspoken Friend.

Night Hope
This site does have some amazing talent, without a doubt, but from personal experience of these websites, I find very little writing that inspires me, as I have said in my previous comment, I am happy with that - I do consider ti worthwhile for anyone to express themselves, particularly if it helps you deal with your feelings and helps you learn about yourself and the world.
The best writers on here tend to be the unsung - the quiet ones, the ones who don't promote everyday, I find those writers, the unashamed the most interesting and the most natural writers.
There is great writing here, sadly, it is often bogged down by those with other points to make.
You do have to give a site like this time and commitmnet, which frankly I don't - you can get a lot from these sites - I just personally feel comments are a bonus to your work, a good gift, a pleasure, not something which should actively define the quality of yourw work, that should come from the writer themselves.

I agree - this site is a back slapping excercise too often - you read my work - i read yours. I use Facebook to post much of my work - i get far less comments, but the comments i do get are from people who tend to know me and I find that rewarding.
This site is full of shit bag writers, only interested in 'being a poet' - whatever the fuck that means...
Sadldy a good 95% of the writing on here does not inspire me - touch me - make me think or feel. All they are interested in is appearing as something, likewise there is too much poetry here which is surface dribble which has no soul, no statement and is more concerned about portraying an image, rather than any personal truths.
Okay - that is what I would like to say.
In this site's defence when you do find a good writer here, one that actually makes you go, wow, I find they tend to be exceptional.
Great rant.

Unfortunately, as someone pointed out to me, there are no first class cabins on AP. We all travel first class, Queen and parlourmaid... or maybe we all travel steerage.
I have no objection to bad poetry - heck, I write it myself - and we all have to learn and grow somewhere. I have a great objection to bad poetry being lauded uncritically, the bad poet being encouraged thereby to stay bad, and only reacting to criticism by curling into a foetal ball.
But I am glad you said this first, because my strap-on is in the laundry.

And they said Clapton was God...........

-
LMAO! Oh, my... Well, I for one have NEVER, EVER felt like this. Oh, no! I mean EVERY poet here belongs for every ass needs a pimple... Every back needs a mole... And every commode needs a floater that just won't go away!
Love it! Wirte on, brother. One.
