Lost in Translation

If I say
“Move over, fatty.”
It means:
I’m terrified of you being this close, just in case my heart is thudding too hard, and you hear it.

If I say
“I hate you.”
It means:
I know I’ve lost again. I knew before we started. I was too busy staring into your eyes and daydreaming about your pouting lips.

If I say
“I’m fine.”
It means:
I’m dying inside this twisted body that you call beautiful, and all I want is for you to hold me close and tell me everything really will be fine, even if it won’t.

If I say
“Don’t worry about it.”
It means:
You’re tearing me apart because I need you with me, but if going will make you happy, then go on, because all I want is your smile lighting up the world.

If I say
“How was your day?”
It means:
I missed you crazy much and I didn’t stop thinking about you all day, or wondering what you were doing and who you were with and if you missed me enough to make your breath halt in your chest as well.

If I say
“You’re a sweetie.”
It means:
I can’t express in words how wonderful you make me feel every single time I’m with you; you’re absolutely perfect to me.

If I say
“Hurry up!”
It means:
I can’t wait for you to with me again, ‘cause if I have to spend another second without your beautiful face, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it.

If I say
“I love you.”
I mean it.
