The Last Book

Of all written volumes in history
There is one that has lasted for ages
The Bible is not such a mystery
As our future’s inscribed in its pages

On the isle of Patmos, Cesar sent John
Predestine to see what soon is to come
Recording visions that he came upon
Inspired by God, where scripture comes from

John penned the book we call Revelation
He showed us the plan that God has for us
Watch it unfold without variation
The future is planned so illustrious

John showed us the way to mankind’s new birth
Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

This was beautiful poem. Of course, all you said here is true. I read this at 6am and it was a jump-start to my day. I like the way you composed the last line. The Bible has all the instructions we need. We just need to follow them. Good luck in the contest

Another masterful sonnet on a very deep subject. Kudos for being able to reduce the enormity of thought into fourteen little lines. You are amazing. I smell gold!

    A good background.

This is a good background of John and where he was. John was the only one of Jesus disciples that was not killed or met a violent death. This is a nice addition to the contest.

Very cleverly wrought. Only for the dullards amongst us are the letters in the last line illuminated.

I hope this does well in the contest.

You are beyond clever and brilliant, dear poet. Your poetry is in a class by itself and someday my grandchildren will likely be reading your poetry in school.

Beautiful write, Sis and I love the form at the end. Very thought provoking and great way to describe what the initials of the word bible could stand for. I've never thought of it that way before. Very creative. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
