Real Love Poem

Sometimes, I'm really glad I am married.
Because, if not for that piece of paper
I think to myself...
I would be out of here.
Like on the days when I wonder
Why I do it...
Why put up with those little things
that drive me crazy.
What is so hard with closing the shower curtain
all the way when you get out?
Or drying up the sink after you shave?
But, then I remember...it is easier for me
to stay married.
Because of that piece of paper.
It makes me think.
I committed myself to you.
Forever..in sickness and in health, blah blah blah
You call me down to watch a movie,
then you fall asleep.
I watch you snoring, and know...
I'm really glad I am married...

I'm glad you're glad. It would suck to be un-glad.

I really liked this poem, it conveys the feelings of what I remember being in a relationship is like so well! Those little things that people do are often the ones that drive you crazy (especially when there are no big things to point out - heh heh heh).

I am slightly confused about the ending though - is the narrator still in love with the man? I have the feeling that she looks on him in love at this point in time, and thanks the marriage for moments like this (because he/she wouldn't get them if they had walked over the shower curtain!), or is it sarcasm once more?

No sarcasm, in the little picture he drives me crazy, but the big picture is I really love him very much.
