She feels the winter bite into her soul
Where blighted angels lie in wait
Their tattered wings that droop down by their sides
A long lament their voices cry
For truth is masked by all the worst we fear
And yet we'll turn our heads away
For when the words that spill from open cries
We are afraid and close our ears
There is no pain greater than betrayal brings
Its Judas touch so icy cold
In soothing whispers that fill lonely nights
A traitors blood is left upon the sheets
Oh! It doesn't matter if her heart is pure
With lusting eyes she is sort out
Nowhere to hide behind a mother's skirts
For pleadings that fall on deafened ears
She feels the winter bite inside her soul
If god is listening he must be blind
How could one so loved simply be tossed aside
Like the icy touch of a winters morn
And still the pain that's caused will never heal
Like open sores that weep and bleed
Her soul is stronger than her slipping resolve
As she waits in fear of the coming storm...
