Late Saturday Night and Early Sunday Morning

she wrapped herself
with his jacket,
wrapped herself
and inhaled
his scent.
it was her, him,
and a friend
seeking a place
that isn't home.
beneath the table,
out of sight,
he clasped her hand.
beneath the table,
out of sight,
he caressed her fingers.
above the table,
it was as if nothing
was happening.
above the table,
the conversation
simply continued.
midnight crept by
unnoticed
as they sipped beer,
fingers entwined
beneath the table.

    awww :)

This was sooo adorable and wonderful. I love the feeling of desire and love and beauty this poem portrays. You are a very talented writer -- I agree with the person below me who said "a moment that speaks for itself..." and you really captured a precious time between two people.

    Great job !

a moment that speaks for itself...very very beautiful. My favorite work from you as of the moment.

    'as they sipped beer,
    fingers entwined
beneath the table' - I can relate, very familiar.

    Wonderful write kabayan
