"Pain is proof that we're alive..."
Hey, no kidding! If it is a reminder
why could it not be more pleasant?
Arthritis causes chronic pain, five
decades of finding others blinder
--the ones whose pain simply isn't
long-standing or persistent. Survive
half a century of pain as you also
must have done...I understand at least
in part, though differently: I know
and feel the exquisite losses missed.
There is no doubt of exquisite pathos:
I feel much greater pain within your loss.
