Three months since you killed me
Three months since I fell
But now I open my eyes
To see what was left
Friends all surround me
And reach out their hands
To wait for the day
I start living again
It seems the right moment
To wipe my red eyes
To stand up and take it
And get on with my life
To me you were everything
Guess that wasn't enough
And although I don't hate you
I have lost my trust
So it's time to start living
And take a look around
There's people here waiting
And look what I've found
There's still love here for me
And though it's not you
I'd rather wasn't
Now there's nothing to lose
Though I'll never forget
I'll be able to smile
At my new love
Knowing she's mine
And it won't have to hurt
This void will be filled
And I'll find I'm okay
Through all that, I lived

Remeber that!!!
'So it's time to start living
And take a look around
There's people here waiting
And look what I've found
There's still love here for me
And though it's not you
I'd rather wasn't
Now there's nothing to lose
Though I'll never forget
I'll be able to smile'

I like it. The ending is kind of a little jumbled though. but other than that, it's awesome.

"Three months since you killed me"
A bit overly dramatic here, but perhaps an accurate metaphor.
"To me your were everything"
The your should be you here.
"Though I'll never forget
I'll be able to smile
At my new love
Knowing she's mine"
Er, I'm a little puzzled at the transisition - how did we go from heartbreak to a new love all of a sudden?
Thanks for entering, and good luck to you. -

the part you were confused about was representing that there's still hope for love even if your heart's been broken. it's not that they've (they being the character in the poem) fallen in love again, it's just the hope they have for their future. i hope this explanation helps.

Oh, okay. That makes sense now that you've explained it, although I still don't think it's all that clear in the poem.
