Water trickles into the brook
On a thin a white branch that I violently shook
And all the rainbow drops hit the surface and clapped
And the burnt tree branch strained and then snapped
Then came on a most intrusive show of lights
As a spiral smoky trail rose out of the white
And I fell back fast as from the tree arose
A leather body with horns and the forest for clothes
Rearing back, the tree uprooted and towered above my head
And the hollow eyes followed as a swallowed and sorrowed
Because I thought that I’d be dead
With a turn of its head, the red eyed rhino beast
Said “move along now and I’ll leave you in peace”
But I couldn’t abstain, and it was quite inhumane
But with a shot from a bow the creature was slain.
There’s a stone walk down to the grass
Where the lawn falls away and a man has an eyeglass
Staring off the shore into sea
We can only wonder what adventures he sees.
Hums a song
on the road so long
she bent the day, so the sun would spray
fire in circles across our eyes.
Fleet Footed, and swift as a light
His feet fly from vines as they're untied
Underneath spirits move with the tide
and suck al life into the Earth's divide.
