With the never ending mental trips
It's no surprise his conscious slips
He stumbles around, looking for
The very things that are no more
He wanders aimlessly, to find
The very things that act to bind
A slavery he drove himself into
A dirty glass he's looking through
Constricting thoughts aim his will
Searching for something to fill
The emptiness he feels inside
The shadows that always turn the tide
His inability to crawl away
Force him, now, to forever stay
He was always filled with doubt
So, by now, he's hollowed out
Author notes
Hope you like it. I'm not even entirely sure what it's about.
I can say, though, that it represents people who aimlessly try to find something, even though it will cause them pain, and during the search get hurt anyways.
