You 'oughta see how
good I am at pretending that I'm sane.
I practice in the mirror every day.
I study chatty questions
and most everything inane;
from the weather to the highest price of
hay.
I try to seem quite innocent,
it works almost every time;
I'm serious and studious and shy--
So when I show my colors,
(rainbow stripes, marroon, and lime)
It never fails to make my friends
surprised.
But these past few months
it seems they've taken everything in stride;
there's really no shock factor that I see...
Perhaps--a novel thought--
They've finally met what's kept inside;
perhaps they've figured out what makes
me.

Love your beginning on this! I can so relate...lol...
full of good emotion. And depth - sometimes when we do practice, our friends do tend to notice who we are. Well said.
thanks for your entry.
best wishes.
