Though I am not in a lockup yet I think, I am tied...
I am Tied to the Violence I see everyday
I am tied to The Abuse My Family Feels As we loose another Member
I am tied To the mother whose a crack fiend the father who cant stop drinking
And Though I may physically be free Mentally and emotionally I have already been locked up
Death row inmates in my mind laughing as I walk
Old negro spirituals being sung as I walk
the prison warden says only one thing "It's called life and it how it always will be"
I am tied to the walls Watching the Same stories play
I am tied to the corner watching the same hustling game
I am tied to alleyways, the war zones and the streets
And Though I may be physically free, mentally and emotionally I have Already Been Locked up
I am tied
I am tied
God help me, I am Tied
