Even though I would like to believe
That love is a happy thing
I sadly have come to realize
The pain that it brings
I have gained a lot
But lost so much more
With the bonds I made
Even though I swore
You made me have hope
To think that love was real
I just can't seem to cope
With how you made me feel
Those bonds get too strong
They become your life and soul
If those bonds were to break
I wouldn't be anymore
The feeling starts out great
Nothing can ruin the day
But then that bullet goes through
And takes it all away
Your world crashes around you
You think you might die
This is why in the light you hear
"It has all been a lie"
In the end you see
How much your heart sways
The tears form as you read
"Love goes both ways..."

Great poem, and demonstrates really well how love can turn so quickly into hate in a instant. Heartbreak is a hard thing, and you captured it with this. Thanks for entering!

A strong emotion piece. Love can be a painful thing when our feelings are not returned, or the other breaks our heart. Best wishes and thank you for entering.

Very powerful....I love how it seems so simple...yet it hits you square in the heart.

Bravo
Very true, love goes both ways. And it really sucks when the one you love doesn't realize this until too late.
Beautiful dear. keep it up.
