Bird of the Night - (an underground railroad song possibility)

We are tired of the hunters
always trying to play their game
To be free from this is all we want
so we shall all flee with no shame.

*chorus*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bird of the night calls
so we spread our wings
And follow it into
the night as it sings.
*********************

Lanterns of hope hang
in the night sky above
Lighting our way to freedom
there's no need for a shove

*chorus*

We wait for the night
when the silence is broken
until we dare leave
with not one word spoken

*chorus*

Author notes

For school we had to write a song about the underground railroad. It was led by Harriette Tubman . She freed the american slaves and led them through the night to the freedom of canada. She had an owl call that let the slaves know she was waiting for them. we had to write a song that the slaves might sing but it had to be in code.
I have explained my code but ya. Just comment about if you liked it or want more info. I could change it but not in a day. Thanks
