rope

watching him hang himself
he's unaware I gave him a rope
the noose already tied
cannot fix his confusion
I have far too much pride

I will miss him though
as he becomes one more memory
in a menagerie of ones I love
I will be alone as they fail tests
they have no knowledge of

short and sweet, well, sweet may not be the right word. i really injoyed reading this. its like you die, and i helped. it hurts you to know that you helped someone else die. i can completely relate. best of luck.

This is really sad. It's a good write though.

I do applaud you, because at least you've acknowledged the fact that you do create your own loneliness, and now you can work on getting past it. I used to be hugely paranoid about a lot of things, and it's taken a lot to get past it, but the first step to getting past anything is to admit that it's a hindrance.

You have penned a wonderful piece here, full of imagery and metaphor, and those last two lines were especially potent. I look forward to reading more of your work, and welcome to AP!

I assume this "noose" is a metaphor for tripping other's up and pushing them away.

The author's note explains it all. Good write.

    Shut your mouth and listen.
    There's no time for reminiscing,
Because thinking of the past just never changed a thing
