CS...The Queen Fire Ant

Missing image

The queen of the fire ant mound

stands in judgment of her command

Soldiers lined up in comradery stance

waiting for the queen to get a chance

Fire ants are armed with a flamecaster torch

that stings the enemy just for fun

You must stay away from the large sand mound

until the work for the queen is done

The function of the queen is reproduction

the workers of the mound are all female on the run

They repair the nest or care for the young

the male ant mates with the queen and enjoys his fun

The queen is the largest ant in the colony

and lays 1500 eggs in just one day

Living six or seven years in her lifetime

mating with male soldier ants, it's all a game of play

Very interesting. I never knew Queen ants could live that long. Well I definately learned something new today.

"You must stay away from the mound" seems like it should have two more syllables added to it. Perhaps and adjective for mound?

Very interesting addition to my contest, and I am glad you entered it. I'm curious as to the deeper meaning.

    Good work.
