Blinking, I awaken
to somewhere new.
The sky is purple
with the rising sun.
I smile.
There is no noise
or movement.
I only hear
the thoughts in my head.
I look at my feet.
I am finally standing
on solid ground.
A wind blows past me
clearing my head.
I sigh.
I see someone
in the distance.
The one person I
never wanted to see again
I cover my eyes.
They are beside me
but it doesn't hurt.
I feel his warmth
and know he loves me.
I stare.
The sky fades to black
with the night coming down.
He is gone from sight
so I feel better.
I lay down to sleep...
