Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones

Listen for the music,
can you hear
the pipe organ playing so chillingly clear?
Who will be brave enough,
who will stop the man without a heart?
Who will be brave enough,
for from ship and sea he must soon part.

A deal with the devil is what he made,
Jack Sparrow’s soul is the price to be paid.
The key to Davy Jones locker is required,
his hidden heart, by many, desired.
Could Jack rise up to the deed,
knowing by destroying Davy’s heart
only then would his soul be freed?

The ensuing battle was strong and fierce,
could this be the day that Davy Jones’s heart is pierced?
So many souls thrown to the bottom of the sea,
into Davy Jones’s locker,
no way to escape,
not being able to flee.
Was it with glee and pride,
that Davy Jones watched as Jack Sparrow died?

When Davy Jones opened his locker,
did he comprehend his eventful fate,
could he hear the laughter,
as someone, with his heart, made their escape?

Author notes

i read many articles on Davy Jones and there were many tales of him, from the barkeeper that drugged his customers to sell to the passing ships as crew members to the one that is greatly feared and hated. i guess this is more about Jack Sparrows then Davy Jones, i tried to incorporated both into my writing and this was what i came up with. to be honest i wanted to high tale it out of here when i saw what my challege was so i can only hope that i rose to the occasion

Please tell me what you think

I like this tale of Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones, I think the rhyming gives it a very romantic and jaunty (which ties in with the naval theme) feel.

    Good write.

"Speak to me from the dead man's soul
What happens when he finds himself
    upon the Flying Dutchman's deck,
which choices is he offered compared
    to the price of hell"

actually hon... i was asking you to write me something from the view point of any sailor that is on the verge of dying at sea. There are tales of men being rescued by Davy Jones and given the choice between serving Davy or taking there chances at Heaven's Gate. Imagine if you will, yourself as a sailor, being given this choice. How would you feel if given the option of serving one of the most dreaded pirates or dying... which are you more afraid of????? This is what I was asking you to write about... the emotions of a man being given the choice of dying or serving a "monster".... the Jack Sparrow background was the only background that could really be called pirate.... lolol.... I apologize for confusing you.

As for this poem... I love it but it doesn't fit the challenge that I gave. However, it is a wonderful snapshot of the plot for all three of the Pirates of the Carribean movies... so three bunnies for the poem but I would like for you to try another for me if you would please?
