The Vampire's Curse

A million years pass you by,
But you are immortal, you’ll never die.
Darkness your lover, brightness your rival.
Fear the light for your survival.

You stay out of view, misery in your eyes.
Alone in the dark, you wait and sigh.
The dark takes over, you mouth becomes cracked.
The moon hazes over, the hunger strikes back.

Soundlessly, you move into the night.
You watch the creatures crawl back in fright.
With unnatural speed, you move around,
Until you spy someone, invading your ground.

Zipping through the grass, you eye your prey.
You’ve waited for this moment day by day.
Almost laughing, you snatch their waist.
Breaking their skin, you find a sweet taste.

A crimson liquid fills your mouth.
You watch as the pale, corpse falls south.
You lick the blood from your lips.
And gaze as the moon forms an eclipse.

This was your night, it has now ended.
You spare a grin, your body has mended.
You run back to your hiding place, that is Hell,
And you keep your secret never to tell.

A million years pass you by,
But you are immortal, you’ll never die.
Darkness your lover, brightness your rival.
Fear the light for your survival.

Excellent literation of feeding. Very poetic, and it flows beautifully. Great write.

My favorite lines, so well put. Once again, great job.

I find it funny that you put this into the category " emo " because, many would think that 'emo' is the exact opposite of good poetry (which is what I asked for).

I don't like vampires, rhyme, or cliches.
