Author notes

This in one of a couple I wrote about Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games. There are millions out there who are addicted.. but as yet few seem to have recognised the problem.

In a list

Anyone else been into one of these games..?

    good

Well I played everquest. I was in afterlife one of the most elite guilds that ever played the game. I also was very successfull in eqoa and daoc. These games can be destructive and addictive but I don't regret them at all as crazy as it sounds I have so many fond and fun memories...I'm not sociall inept or some closet nerd in any way, yet I had more fun doing some things in game with friends I made (which led to many good real life friendships) then with a lot of stuff I've done in real life. I haven't played in a couple years but I miss it a lot and look forward to the day I'm slaying dragons and grinding levels =p albiet casually and in my spare time this go round like the eq national guard one weekend a month lol. Anyways good write =)

Completely different to the last one I read of yours, both in style and content... but still just as well written. I used to be addicted to an online game called Well of Souls... days on end 'wasted'. In this short poem, you have outlined a problem many will be able to relate to, and have done so with a slight element of darkness. Nicely done.

    David.

The MMO games are sucking peoples lives dry. So far I have played several, but then realised just how much damage that they can do. As for my different styles - well for another flavour try 'Masie May' or 'Playground'

Thank you. I played Everquest 2, and the pic is of my last toon. As you know, it takes over your life, it's so addictive. Even now (a year later) there is a temtation to return.

A visual mind finds images to hold thoughts about the world. This poem has used strong images and symbols to express itself. It is hard to make fear and the games we use to mask them look good. You avoided the trite and sing song madness of agnst brought on by hormones. You have captured some of the underlying dynamics of the way fear strips sensations of comfort so we numb ourselves to feeling. Good effort.
    Love Tom B.

I was hooked on one of those games, and have spoken as one who knows. Thank you for your feedback, it is helpful as I have only recently started sharing my poetry.
