The innocent never last
This hard world
Either you change or the world rejects you
I know what that feels like
And I'm no where near innocent
This world has had it's fun with me
It picked me up and tossed me down
Winded me, then made me run like the chased
It threw me into the wind
It knocked the life out of me
Torn and shattered and broken
But still alive
I'm no longer innocent
I'm not a virgin to the cruelty of society
But I am still alive
And I can tell the tale
Of hurt
Pain
Trial
Error
Mistakes
And of survival

this is a very awesome piece! its so simplistic, which really kinda fits in with the theme of innocence, but at the time its so powerful and so so true to life

LOVE LOVE LOVE this line, it kinda reminds me of an innocent child growing up and realising the monsters under the bed were real, but were just the evil of every day people.

Wow, I like this. It kinda is like a story, but you wove a poetic essence into it, too. I like the last line, because it kinda says "I'm not done with you yet, world!".
