life light

there were things dropping,
falling through air
i told him come towards  me,
but he had to stay out there
i wanted to scream
but my voice, it was lost
it wasnt my choice
but now i know the cost

baby baby, i have the swing
now heres your mother's
pretty wedding ring
i'll give you a birdy,
if you sing with me
oh baby baby, i have the swing

i called up my friends,
they said they didnt know
why someone decided
my child had to go
and now i sit alone
here in the gloom
theres things i understand
but none of it can consume
this feeling in my chest
and now theres these toys
they wont go away
they haunt with rejoice

baby baby, i have the swing
now heres your mother's
pretty wedding ring
i'll give you a birdy,
if you sing with me
oh baby baby, i have the swing

my little bitty baby,
come and say
that your sad mommy
can smile today
i know your not loney,
god must have for you friends
thats the only way for him
to make, with me, amends
oh my pretty teeny baby
you have grown so much
even if it done
with out your mothers touch

baby baby, i have the swing
now heres your mother's
pretty wedding ring
i'll give you a birdy,
if you sing with me
oh baby baby, i have the swing

baby baby, i want to stay
swinging away, we rock we sway
we laugh and love, but now i cry
cause the light of my life,
it left, it died.

Author notes

i know that the picture has a wagon, but to me, i felt a swing. i felt a light. going out. being gone. shinning on a missing spot and being eaten up by that emptyness.

i had lost the light like this once before, i wish that i had obtained the chance to rock and sway with it...

    Interesting

I quite like the role you took penning this, bringing forth more than just a wagon but a swing; the innocence pours through the words as the images swirl around me

    Wonderful write
