She has a boyfriend
but she loves me.
If my heart feels this way
isn't it meant to be.
She tugged and pulled
until she tore my heart away.
Almost so easily
I can feel the torment everyday.
I still think about her
in my sleep.
When I dream
I envision the night that touched me so deep.
I was at her window
and she was at my lips.
I could feel her love
throughout my body to my finger tips.
The next day
I awoke to say good morning.
To learn that I was a mistake
not worthy of mourning.
Time after time
I see her with him.
I know it should be me
but the truth can be so grim.
Her love is broken
into pieces and separated.
My love is forever
to which it can never be sedated.
