Such a tiny cry but it filled my ears
The moment you were born
A baby girl the Doctor said
Then from the room you were torn
My firstborn little miracle
A year has passed since then
You fought and beat the odds not once
But over and over again
Your strength is a gift
That you've shared with us all
You're an angel sent from heaven
For us to love and adore
My second born
My firstborn's twin
A boy they said
Then off they went again
Not a touch, not a glimpse
Your life was on the line
But as I gazed at you later
I knew you were mine
Now you've reached your 1st Birthday
You've grown big and strong
I thank God as I hold you
That you're home where you belong
Author notes
I wrote this 9 years ago on my twins 1st birthday. After being born 15 weeks early, their first year of life was such a struggle for them and their birthday brought back a rush of memories of the day they were born.

This is very touching Anne... A mother's love can never be surpased! I'm so happy she has grown strong!

How very sweet, I could imagine how scary those moments were for you, glad they are fine now!
