Clichéd

Pray my love will disappear
and take from me this ache I fear;
tormented in every way
for love will always be clichéd.
Overrated words and roses
taken in expected doses;
"Hearts aflame and full of passion,"
-out of date and out of fashion-
Dismal, small, and polluted,
'true love' often lies refuted.

Thus this life has been concluded.

Author notes

The clichés of love, and how it's really hard to be happy with sometimes.

    this is a very interesting poem and most entertaining. I enjoyed the rhyme scheme and flow that is set here. the last line is the kicker...Concluded is such a strong word.

    gah, isn't it crazy how their are so many cliches about love and love lost, yet once you experience it, you identify with all those cliches? i guess there's a reason their cliched...

    Great poem, it wasn't very long so you have to get your message across quickly and concisly, which you did, and the flow was great!
