Oh dear, oh dear, another year
of wisdom, refinement, grace and beauty
guaranteed to claim for life
any man who wanders near her…
Those few years spent in full flower
carried underneath her power
so hard won, ironic so
that it comes at such an hour…
Forever young, smooth as silk
never far from mother’s milk
always budding in the prime
kiss of ages, cheating time…
On this day we celebrate
what comes early, never late
and much too soon beneath a moon
shading romance hues of blue…
Let us wear our party hats
blow our poppers, scare the cats
jump for glee for you and me
as we travel down the path
that leads us to eternity…
Yippie ha-ha yummy cake
I’ll eat it all and save your fate
from great-behinds and puffy cheeks
that stay with us for weeks and weeks…
We’ll jog them off then eat again-
much more fun if with a friend-
So Happy Yippie Ha-Ha Day
we'll toss it on our yesterdays…

I love how you've purposefully avoided using Happy Birthday like I asked and turned it into something fun! This had me giggling. I absolutely love this, so joyful and humerous, I know mum would have been smiling when reading this.
I thankyou for this entry but most of all I thank you for sharing this special time with my mum and bringing a well deserved smile to her heart.
